Nice to meet you! Personality is very complex. There is no one specific definition. Personality is one’s unique set of traits within a person which influence one’s beliefs, motivations, emotions, behaviors and even their environment. Personality can be referred to our patterns of thoughts, behaviors and motivators that help us develop through our lives. It helps us perceive the environment around us, as well as our perception and attitude. Character helps us know who we are inside. It refers to our morals and beliefs which defines how we treat or behave with others. Personality is a combination of qualities, attitude and behavior, which makes one distinct from others. “Character refers to a set of moral and mental qualities and beliefs, that makes a person different from others.” (Phil 2017)

Hello,
Temperament is defined by Rothbart as “emotional excitability” (2007). Meaning, it is how a person emotionally reacts to a situation and with how much intensity they display would determine a person’s temperament. Here are some adjectives to explain Rothbart’s statement: intense, fidgety, easygoing, quiet, irritable, unpredictable, cheerful, relaxed, and resistant are a few words to describe temperament. In fact, temperament is the part of your personality that people learn about you first. We know this when we observe infants; are they fussy babies or good-natured babies. Whereas character is defined with a particular emphasis on moral qualities. A.W. Tozer described character as “the excellence of moral beings.” Another way to think about character is when a person exhibits a lack of character, they tend to behave dishonestly and is unethical. Character is something you can learn. Personally, I like to read the book of Proverbs to build my character.
